Product Care
Product Care
To ensure your soap lasts as long as possible, keep it dry between uses by placing it in a well-draining soap dish, away from standing water. Each bar weighs approximately 140g, offering generous use. For larger bars, we recommend cutting the soap into smaller pieces, which helps maintain its freshness and makes it easier to handle. Caring for your soap in this way ensures every wash is as luxurious as the first.

Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Why does handmade soap sometimes look different from the photos?
Each bar is lovingly poured and cut by hand in small batches, using natural clays, botanical powders, and plant infusions. These ingredients can vary slightly from batch to batch, and colour may soften or fade over time, especially when exposed to light. This natural variation is part of the charm and uniqueness of a handcrafted bar. No two are exactly alike, and we believe that’s a beautiful thing.
2. What is lye, and is there any left in the bar?
Lye (sodium hydroxide) is a necessary part of the traditional soapmaking process, it transforms oils and butters into soap through saponification. Once the soap has cured, there is no lye left in the final bar. What remains is gentle, nourishing soap full of naturally occurring glycerin, ready to cleanse without stripping the skin.
3. How long does a bar last, and how should I store it?
Each regular bar weighs approximately 140–145g. The lifespan of your soap will vary depending on how often it's used and how it's stored. To help it last longer, we recommend allowing it to dry fully between uses. A well-drained soap dish or a wooden rack will prevent it from softening in water, helping you get the most out of each bar.
4. Will natural soap expire or go bad?
Natural soap doesn’t expire in the conventional sense, but it does change over time. The scent may gently fade, and in very hot or humid conditions, the soap may become soft, sticky, or develop a faint off-smell. This is due to the natural oils in the soap. For best results, store your bars in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight to help preserve their scent and texture.
5. Is your soap safe for sensitive skin, babies, or during pregnancy?
Our soaps are made with skin-loving oils, clays, and natural ingredients designed to be gentle. For very sensitive skin or specific conditions, we recommend Marigold Meadows—our unscented bar infused with calendula, chamomile, and raw honey.
If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, we suggest speaking with your GP or midwife, as certain essential oils may not be suitable at all stages of pregnancy. While our information is thoughtfully shared, your healthcare provider knows what’s best for you.
6. Do all your soaps have the same ingredients?
Not quite. Each soap is crafted with its own unique blend of oils and butters—some with creamy mango, others with shea, cocoa, or kokum. These variations are intentional and allow each bar to offer its own qualities and character. While all of our soaps are made with care to be kind to skin, the exact recipe does vary from bar to bar. Full ingredient lists are available on each product page, so you can choose the one that feels right for you.
