Candle FAQs

Q: How long do your candles burn?

A: Our candles burn for 40–45 hours, depending on how well you care for the wick.

Q: How do I prevent tunnelling?

A: Let the wax melt all the way to the edge of the jar on the first burn. This sets an even burn pattern for the life of the candle.

Q: How long should I trim the wick?

A: The wick is trimmed when you receive the candle. After that, remove or pinch off the burnt part before each burn. It helps the flame burn cleanly and prevents smoke or soot.

Q: What if the flame smokes or flickers?

A: This usually means the wick is too long, the burnt tip hasn’t been removed, or the candle is in a drafty spot. Blow it out, trim the wick, and move it away from fans or windows.

Q: Are your candles safe for pets?

A: Since we use toxin-free ingredients, our candles are generally safe for pets. But some essential oils (like eucalyptus or tea tree) can affect animals. Burn in a well-ventilated space and monitor your pet’s reaction.

Q: What kind of wax do you use?

A: We use a clean-burning blend of natural coconut and apricot wax — vegan, sustainable, and excellent at holding fragrance.

Q: Why do you use wooden wicks?

A: Wooden wicks offer a cleaner, more even burn with less soot than cotton. They add a gentle, fireplace-like crackle that enhances the mood, and they’re sustainably sourced, making them better for the planet too.

Q: Can I reuse the candle jar?

A: Definitely. Once the wax is gone, wash the jar with warm soapy water and reuse or recycle it.

Q: Are your candles eco-friendly?

A: Yes. Everything from our wax to our packaging is designed to be kind to the planet: biodegradable, plant-based, and plastic-free.

Q: Why can I smell the candle more in another room than where it’s burning?

A: That’s nose-blindness (a.k.a. olfactory fatigue). Your brain stops noticing familiar scents, but the fragrance is still in the air, sometimes stronger in areas where it drifts naturally.

Planting Our Seeded Candle Dust Covers

  Welcome to your planting guide!

Our special seeded paper is embedded with 20 varieties of native British wildflower seeds, ready to grow into a vibrant garden. We’re thrilled to share these plantable products with you and provide guidance to help you bring beautiful wildflowers to life.

Please keep in mind that growing from seed involves several factors beyond our control. Temperature, moisture, light, and air conditions all play a role in the success of germination. Don’t be discouraged if growth is slower than expected - wildflowers often require patience and the right environment.

Our unique meadow paper has been carefully crafted just for us, using recycled  cotton pulp combined with a hand-selected fresh wildflower seed mix native to the United Kingdom. This eco-friendly, biodegradable paper is not only kind to the planet but also designed to give back to the environment with every bloom. After extensive testing, we can confirm that with the right care, your seeded paper will sprout and grow.

Instructions for Planting

Prepare the Paper: Tear the seeded paper into small pieces and soak them in water for around 30 seconds to thoroughly moisten.

Plant the Paper: Place the wet paper just beneath a thin layer of soil.

Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist by watering daily, but take care not to overwater.

Sunlight & Warmth: Position the pot in a warm, sunny spot within your home to support growth.

Germination & Transplanting: Sprouts may take a few weeks to emerge. Allow seedlings to strengthen indoors before transplanting outside during spring or autumn.

By following these steps, you’ll be creating a lovely patch of British wildflowers that will thrive in your garden.

Happy planting, and thank you for supporting our eco-friendly mission!
